Friends of Preston

A warm welcome to you from the FOP team. Friends of Preston is a social and inter-community cultural organisation in Preston, Lancashire promoted by the Malayalee community, living in and around the Preston city. We originally hail from the south Indian state of Kerala, in India.

We have a rich cultural heritage and it is our endeavour to protect and promote this heritage within our community, even when imbibing the good values of the British society as a whole. Malayalees  mainly work in healthcare professions and we have a large number of nurses, doctors  and allied professionals working with the NHS and other private healthcare institutions.

Social inclusion, professional empowerment, cultural promotion and supporting positive mental health among its members are some of the activities that we undertake. We organise and promote a variety of cultural programmes, sports activities, seminars, study classes and personal empowerment activities.  Our organisation is effectively managed by an executive committee comprising of up to 15 members, being led by a coordinator.
